About the Event
According to the founder of HNW Organization, Wazhma Mohammadi, “It once seemed almost impossible to bring together people from different parts of Afghan society especially families to discuss a topic still considered taboo: women’s physical health and preventable illnesses.”
The Nowruz celebration created a valuable opportunity not only to break this taboo and raise awareness, but also to celebrate with Afghan and Swiss communities through music, dance, and shared moments of joy and learning.
The situation of women in Afghanistan under Taliban rule was also addressed, with reference to reports by the United Nations Human Rights Council.
The event further included an introduction to the organization’s activities, achievements, and goals.
