About Wajma

Founder and Executive Director of  (HNW), a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to education, health, and leadership opportunities for Afghan women and girls.

With a background in law, she has been advocating for women's rights since the age of 17. Over the past eight years, she has led initiatives promoting education, legal awareness, and equal opportunities for Afghan women through community programs and public advocacy.

After relocating to Switzerland three years ago, she learned German, pursued her Master’s degree, and continued her advocacy work.

Inspired by her own experience with endometriosis, she launched women's health education programs, organizing online workshops for women in Afghanistan and health awareness sessions for Afghan migrant women in Switzerland. She also established online book clubs and educational programs to help Afghan women continue learning despite restrictions on girls' education.

Through Humanity Network for Women, Wajma works to create practical opportunities that empower Afghan women with knowledge, skills, and leadership.

 Wajma says:

“I remember that even before the Taliban returned, we worked hard to reduce the educational gap among women. Today, the need is even greater because millions of girls were suddenly forced to leave school after sixth grade. Education is no longer only an opportunity, it is a lifeline.”
